ĢƵ Suit Closet

The Suit Closet, located in the Career Education and Development Office, provides students with free access to professional clothing for career-related opportunities. This resource is designed to support students who may not have access to professional attire and want to make a strong first impression in the workplace. 

Eligible students include those who are attending an interview, participating in an internship, or engaging in a job shadow experience. All clothing items are free to keep, allowing students to build their own professional wardrobe as they continue to grow in their careers. 

How to Access the Suit Closet

Students interested in selecting professional attire from the Suit Closet must follow the steps below:

  1. Schedule an Appointment
    All visits to the Suit Closet are by appointment only. Students must schedule an appointment through

  2. Provide Proof of Opportunity
    Students must provide documentation of a professional opportunity, such as an internship, job interview, or job shadow experience. Acceptable forms of proof include an offer letter, interview confirmation, or an email from an employer, professor, or career advisor verifying the opportunity.

Once your appointment is confirmed and your documentation is approved, you will have access to the Suit Closet to select professional clothing for your upcoming event.


 

About Headshot & Suit Closet Socials

Headshot & Suit Closet Socials are group-based events that allow clubs, organizations, teams, and departments to book a dedicated time for their members to build their professional image together. During these sessions, participants can socialize in a relaxed setting while selecting free professional attire from the Suit Closet and receiving high-quality headshots for platforms like LinkedIn.

This completely free resource is designed to make career preparation more accessible and engaging, encouraging students to take meaningful steps toward their professional goals as a group. By combining community, confidence-building, and practical tools, these socials help students feel prepared for interviews, networking opportunities, and future career success.

How to Book a Social

Organizations interested in booking a Headshot or Suitcloset Social should follow the steps below:
  1. Decide Your Event Type
    Determine if your group would like headshots, Suit Closet access, or both during your social.
  2. Coordinate With Your Group
    Talk with your members to estimate attendance and choose a general timeframe that works best for everyone.
  3. Have Dates & Times in Mind
    Prepare a few preferred dates and times to make scheduling easier and more flexible.
  4. Email to Book Your Social
    Reach out to Tina Bartleson to schedule your event, including your group name, estimated number of attendees, preferred dates, and requested services. You can reach Tina by email at Tina.Bartleson@stockton.edu
  5. Confirm & Share Details
    Once your social is confirmed, share the event details with your members so they know what to expect and how to prepare.

Support ĢƵ students as they prepare for interviews, internships, and professional events by donating to the Suit Closet. We welcome new or gently used suit attire to help our students feel confident and make a lasting first impression.

What to Donate

  • Complete Suits
    • Two-piece suits (jacket + matching pants or skirt)
    • Pant suits, skirt suits, or dress suits
    • Business suits in neutral colors (black, navy, gray, tan, dark brown)
  • Suit Components (if not part of a set)

    • Suit jackets/blazers (classic, professional cuts)
    • Dress slacks or suit pants
    • Suit skirts (knee-length or longer)

Clothing Guidelines

  • ĢƵ cannot clean or repair any items that are donated
  • Please be sure your gift is free of holes, rips, offensive smells and missing components
  • Items must be clean, stain-free and void of any pet hair

Prepare Your Donation

Items should be freshly cleaned, folded or on hangers

Place in a bag or box labeled “Suit Closet Donation”

Visit the Career Education & Development Office in the Campus Center, Suite 104 during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm).
