Dalton Culleny, Digital Studies

William T. Daly School of General Studies
When reflecting on his time at ĢƵ, Dalton Culleny recalls all of the nerves before a big track meet, the opportunities afforded to him through ĢƵ connections, and the endless memories he created with teammates and fellow classmates.
As a Digital Studies major, Culleny was able to learn a multitude of programs, elevating his career while taking advantage of every opportunity before him.
“Something that I want other students to know is that I am earning my bachelor’s degree in just three years,” said Culleny, who earned college credits while still in high school.
“ĢƵ has given me so many unique experiences, from competing on the team to working on the Marketing team in ĢƵ’s Event Services; the opportunities were endless,” he said.
These opportunities introduced Culleny to prestigous internships with Show Set Production, the Federal Aviation Administration and Walt Disney Imagineering.
“The most unique experience was being able to apply my coursework directly to real-world opportunities. I took what I learned in the classroom and carried those skills into my internships,” Culleny explained.
My plan is to continue using my ĢƵ education to help bring Disney Park experiences to life around the world... I have always been fascinated by how guests experience theme parks, always dreaming about being part of the team that brought this to life. Pursuing this passion through a Digital Studies degree has been the perfect path.”
“One of the biggest challenges I faced was getting my foot in the door with Walt Disney Imagineering. It took countless applications, hours of networking, attending conferences, studying hard, and, above all, resilience. After years of persistence and dedication, I finally landed my dream internship with WDI in Los Angeles.”
In this role, Culleny is part of a team responsible for creating an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
“I’m working alongside engineers, creatives and executives, helping to develop new Marvel-based attractions for Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland,” he said. "It's been such an amazing experience, and I am excited to keep building on it after graduation.”
After graduation, Culleny will move from Los Angeles to Orlando to continue his internship with Walt Disney Imagineering.
“My plan is to continue using my ĢƵ education to help bring Disney Park experiences to life around the world,” Culleny said. “I’ve had this career path in mind since I was a kid. I have always been fascinated by how guests experience theme parks, always dreaming about being part of the team that brought this to life. Pursuing this passion through a Digital Studies degree has been the perfect path.”
But Culleny knows that no matter where he travels or what opportunities are next, he will never forget his time at ĢƵ.
“There’s nothing like running through the Pine Barrens with your best friends or feeling the butterflies in your stomach right before a race starts. The memories I made as a student athlete at ĢƵ will stay with me for a lifetime,” Culleny said.
