Election Debates & Candidate Forums
The Center sponsors debates for candidates for federal and state offices to help connect voters to candidates, boost political awareness and civic engagement, and anchor the public discourse in substantive policy exchange. Debates are held at the main campus in Galloway and in Atlantic City. We often partner with local/regional media and other organizations to co-sponsor debates and candidate forum events. We adhere to the guidelines of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and, when applicable, New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) rules for live debates and candidate forums, ensuring equal treatment of all candidates and parties. We seek input from the community as we develop debate questions, ensuring that candidates address the issues voters care most about. Our aim is to facilitate a productive dialogue so that voters can make an informed choice.
