GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ Alumnus and Visual Arts major, Sean Fitzgerald, was among 32 New Jersey artists to receive fellowships from the New Jersey Council on the Arts.

 

Fitzgerald, who received a fellowship for photography, graduated cum laude with program distinction in his major and a 3.8 cumulative GPA in December of 2002. The 32 Fellowship recipients were chosen out of an original pool of 523 applicants.

 

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is a division of Cultural Affairs in the New Jersey Department of State. The Councils Fellowship program was created to assist the states artists advance their artistry. Evaluation criterion for a Fellowship award is artistic excellence.

 

Other Fellowship recipients from the south Jersey region include Skeffington Thomas of Bridgeton, Constance Bridges of Egg Harbor Township, and Christine Salvatore of Brigantine.
